Checking GST and ABN Status for Vendors

Objective

This SOP outlines how to check the GST and ABN status of vendors in an AgriNous sale.

Key Steps

1. Open the Sale 0:02

  • Log in to AgriNous.

  • Navigate to the sale bringing you to the overview page.

2. Navigating to Consignments 0:10

  • Click on the 'Consignments' tab to open the consignments view.

3. Changing to GST Check Vendors View 0:32

  • Below "Overview' and 'Consignments', change the view to 'GST Check Vendors'.

4. Reviewing Vendor Information 0:44

  • Review the list of vendors, including:

    • Agent reference code

    • ABN (Australian Business Number)

    • ABN check status

    • GST registration status

    • Any ABN warnings

    • Hobby farmer status.

5. Interpreting Vendor Status 2:43

  • A green tick indicates:

    • ABN check has been completed.

    • Vendor is GST registered.

  • Any ABN warnings will be displayed.

6. Checking ABN Details 3:04

  • To check ABN details, click on the agent reference code or vendor name.

  • Navigate to 'Finance and Accounting' to view payment details, including ABN or ACN.

7. Adding an ABN 3:43

  • If an ABN is missing, click on the box to add it.

  • After entering the ABN, click 'Submit' and then 'Query ABR' to fetch data.

8. Refreshing ABN Data 4:13

  • If the data does not update immediately, click back to 'GST' and select 'Query ABR' again.

  • Confirm that the vendor has two green ticks indicating both ABN and GST registration.

10. Managing Hobby Farmer Status 4:57

  • To change the hobby farmer status, navigate back to 'Finance and Accounting' and toggle the status on or off.

11. Filtering ABN Warnings 5:08

  • Use the 'GST and ABN Warnings' view to filter and address vendors with issues.

12. Checking Businesses for ABN Warnings 5:29

  • Navigate to the 'Businesses' section to filter and check for any ABN warnings.

  • Try to have this tidied up as best as possible, limiting the need to do so on sale day.

  • Ensure that all vendor information is accurate before finalising any sales.

  • Double-check the GST registration status to avoid compliance issues.

Tips for Efficiency

  • Regularly check ABN statuses to avoid last-minute issues on sale day.

  • Utilise the filtering options to manage vendor statuses efficiently.
