Active and Inactive Businesses
Making a Business Inactive keeps buyers and vendors out of your Business selectors without deleting them or their history. You can re-Activate a Business at any time.

Whether a Business is Active is set separately for each organisation. Switching a business off in your agency doesn’t affect any other agency. A Temporary Business is also hidden from pickers outside the Sale it was created in.
Make one business inactive
- On the Businesses screen, open the business.
- In the General section, switch off Active.
- Select Submit.
Change several at once
- On the Businesses screen, select the businesses.
- Open the actions menu and select Bulk Update [number] Businesses.
- Set the Active field and confirm.
This needs the Bulk Update Businesses feature. For temporary businesses, use Inactivate ([n]) Unmatched on the Temporary Businesses screen instead.
Result: Inactive businesses stop appearing in pickers. To bring one back, switch Active on.
Troubleshooting
If a Business you switched off is back in your pickers, someone may have added it again as a Connected Business, which switches it back to Active.
If you can’t find a Business you expected to find, check Is Active on the Businesses list before assuming it’s gone.
