Connecting a Tru-Test XRS2i / SRS2i Handheld Scanner to an Android Device for Use in Agrinous

This guide will walk you through connecting your Tru-Test handheld scanner (XRS2i or SRS2i) to your Android device so it can be used with Agrinous.

1. Configure the Scanner

  1. Power on your handheld scanner.

  2. Using the arrow keys, navigate to:
    Settings → Bluetooth → Advanced

  3. The scanner will most likely be in Connect Mode – DEFAULT.

    • Press the round middle button.

    • A message will display:
      “This may affect how your Bluetooth reader connects with a Bluetooth connected weigh scale.”

    • Press the button below the green tick (✔) on the right of the screen.

  4. The Connect Mode will now display as HID.

    • This effectively puts the scanner into keyboard mode, which allows manual entry of tags into Agrinous (since current Bluetooth chips are not fully compatible).

  5. Return to the Home screen by pressing the back arrow twice.

  6. Navigate to Tag Reading and set the following:

    • Read Mode: Continuous

    • Allow Duplicates: Yes

    • Allow Blank Data: On

    • ISO Synchro: Off


2. Pair the Scanner with Your Android Device

  1. On your Android device, open Settings → Bluetooth.

  2. Look for your scanner (XRS2i or SRS2i) in the list.

    • You should now see a second option with KBR after the name (Keyboard).

  3. Select the option ending in KBR.

  4. Tap Pair when prompted.

  5. A blue light will appear on your scanner, indicating that Bluetooth is connected.


3. Use the Scanner in Agrinous

  1. Open the Agrinous app.(You do not need the Agrinous Hub to be open)

  2. Select the Sale you are working on.

     
  3. Choose the Consignment or Sale Lot you want to scan into.



  4. Tap Scan select the device from the drop down box ie XRS2i KBD


  5. Then select Manual Input.
  6. Tap on the blank input field until the cursor is flashing.

  7. Start scanning tags by pressing the button on the scanner wand.

    • Tags will appear in the field one by one

  8. Once all tags are scanned, Save them to the Lot/Consignment.
