Download an AgriNous table as a PDF

Getting the PDF report you want can be as simple as setting the table up once, saving as a Saved View, then loading that View and downloading a PDF each time you need it.

Building your own reports

AgriNous's Reports screen and Sale Reports tab give you a set of ready-made reports, each built to a fixed layout for a common need. When you want a different combination of columns, a breakdown a standard report doesn't offer, or just a one-off view for today's sale - you don't need to wait for a new report to be built.

Any table already showing that data can become your own report instead: filter it down to the rows you want, show only the columns that matter, group or sort it the way you'd want to read it, and download it as a PDF. It won't carry a report title from the Reports screen, but it'll show exactly the data you chose, laid out exactly as you set the table up.

Before you start

• Pick a table that already shows the columns you need. You can hide columns a table already has, but you can't add columns from elsewhere - so start from the table whose data already matches the report you're after (for example, the Money table for billing documents, Sale Lots for weights and prices, Consignments for vendor/PIC details).

Steps

1. On the table, set it up the way you want the PDF to look: hide columns you don't need, drag columns into the order you want, apply any filters, and sort the rows. Add any grouping or calculations you need.
2. If you want to reuse this exact setup later, open the Views panel and save it as a named view for easy recall.
3. Select the “⋯” menu button.
4. Select Download as PDF (portrait) or Download as PDF (landscape).

Controlling column width

There's no separate "fit to page" setting — the PDF uses each column's width exactly as it's set on screen. To change how wide a column looks in the PDF, drag its border in the table header to resize it before you export, the same way you would to make it easier to read on screen.

If columns are missing from the PDF

Columns that don't fit the page are left out. If your PDF is missing columns you expected to see, check whether the visible columns were too wide to all fit on the page. To fix it:

• Hide any columns you don't need for this PDF.
• Narrow columns that don't need to be as wide as they are.
• Try Download as PDF (landscape) instead of portrait — it gives you more width to work with before columns start dropping off.

Where to set things up

• The Columns panel (in the table's side panel) controls which columns show and what order they're in - this is the main thing that decides what ends up in the PDF.
• The Filters panel controls which rows are included - the PDF only ever includes the rows currently displayed, never a hidden column.
• The Views panel lets you save a column/filter setup by name and switch back to it later - the easiest way to keep a repeatable custom report ready whenever you need this same PDF again later.
• The Grouping and Values sections allows you drag columns down and pivot the report based on repeated data points (eg, Vendor), and present data in various mathematical formats (eg Average of Sale Lot Head)

Result

Your browser's print dialog opens with the table laid out as a PDF: a title built from the sale and table name in the top-left, today's date in the top-right, and a footer on every page with the AgriNous logo, the print date and time, and page numbers. Any row grouping or totals in the table carry across as bold group and totals rows.
