HID Mode for Allflex Reader AWR-250

The Allflex AWR250 can be put into that HID mode that makes it work on both Android & iPhone as a keyboard or Manual Mode in the AgriNous scanning screen.

How to Enable HID Mode on Allflex Readers

To use the reader as an external keyboard to enter IDs directly into a spreadsheet, note-taking app, or management software:
  1. Access Menu: Turn on the reader and press the menu button (often the center button).
  2. Navigate to Setup: Select "Setup" and press the green/OK button.
  3. Interface Setup: Select "Interface Setup" or "Bluetooth".
  4. Set Profile: Select "Set BT Profile" and change it to HID.
  5. Pair Device: On your phone or computer, scan for Bluetooth devices and connect to the reader.
Key Considerations
  • HID vs. HID Smart: HID mode acts as a keyboard, which may disable your device's on-screen keyboard when connected. HID Smart (often used for iOS) allows the virtual keyboard to remain available when the reader is not actively scanning.
  • Data Output: When in HID mode, the reader sends the 15-digit EID number followed by a carriage return (enter), making it ideal for filling out spreadsheets, such as Excel.
