Livestock / NLIS Holdings : Overview

You can use the Livestock section, and it's NLIS Holdings section, to see, without leaving AgriNous, what NLIS believes is currently on your PICs.

Every PIC you manage in NLIS is a "holding." NLIS keeps its own record of which animals it considers to be on that holding right now - built from every Take, Sell, and transfer transaction that's ever moved an animal onto or off it. This section shows you that record, pulled directly from NLIS, one row per animal per holding.

• Your NLIS credentials need to be entered in AgriNous.
• Your saleyard or agency needs the NLIS Holdings feature enabled.

NLIS Holdings

This section tells you

• Which animal (by EID and NLIS ID) NLIS has recorded on the holding.
• Where it came from — the vendor PIC, the National Vendor Declaration (NVD) or waybill, the sale date, species, and saleyard.
• When NLIS last synced that holding, and its current status.

If an animal is still listed against your holding in NLIS after you know it's been sold and moved on, that's worth chasing - it usually means a transfer didn't complete, and NLIS's compliance record is now out of step with reality. Checking this section regularly is the easiest way to catch that before it becomes a bigger problem.

NLIS Holdings is read-only - it mirrors what NLIS has recorded, so there's nothing to edit or delete from this screen. If a holding looks wrong, the fix happens through the normal Take/Sell/transfer process (or directly with NLIS).
